With the development of the internet, digital violence has become increasingly widespread among peers. An additional challenge in this context is the fact that many adults themselves do not have enough knowledge about the internet, did not grow up in such an environment, and therefore, due to a lack of personal experience, are often unable to work on preventing peer digital violence or to provide adequate support and assistance to their children, putting both potential perpetrators and victims at risk.
The project aims to detect, define, and analyze the state of peer bullying and violence carried out via the internet (cyberbullying), with a special focus on underage girls with reduced abilities due to visual impairment (blind and visually impaired), striving to protect them from moral, psychological, and even physical threats to their safety on the internet.
Main achievements and effects of the project:
- Increased awareness and skills among girls with visual impairments for recognizing and preventing cyberbullying.
- Stronger peer networks that provide emotional and practical support for navigating online spaces.
- Creation of accessible, replicable resources that can be adopted by schools and organizations across the Republic of Serbia.
- Reduction in reported incidents of cyberbullying among participants, along with improved self-confidence and digital engagement.
